In our heavenly kingdom and in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is to be found our beloved father, brother, uncle, and dear friend Concepcion “Chon” M. Sotelo.

Mr. Sotelo, 61, of Odessa, surrounded by his loving family at his bedside, passed away Monday March 24, 2014 at Medical Center Hospital.

He was born October 28, 1952 in Odessa to Jose and Marianna Muñoz Sotelo. He was a Catholic and worked as a welder.

Mr. Sotelo is survived by sons, Shannon Sotelo of Odessa, Tommy Sotelo of Odessa; brothers, Alvaro Sotelo of Marina Del Rey, California, and Tony Pacheco of Marfa; sisters, Lillian S. Garza of Odessa, and Viola Razo of Marfa; nine grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Marianna M. Sotelo; a son, Steven Sotelo; a brother, Jose Sotelo Jr; and a sister, Lucia Ybarra.

Visitation and the Rosary were the afternoon and evening of Sunday March 30 at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass was the morning of Monday March 31 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial in the Ector County Cemetery, Los Angeles Section.

Pallbearers were Tommy Sotelo, Ricky Garza, Paul Garza Sr., Ray Garza, Arron Fuentez, Alan Villa, and honorary pallbearer was Louies Garza Jr.

The Sotelo family expresses its utmost sincere gratitude to each and everyone of you for all your prayers, floral, food offerings and especially your presence with us during this most difficult time. May God bless you all abundantly.
