Santiaga Alvarado, 97, of Cisco and formerly of Marfa, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014 at her home.

Santiaga was born in Marfa on December 31, 1916 to Daniel and Blaza Sanchez Brito.
She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Alvarado.
Santiaga is survived by her children, Lydia Cooper of Abilene, Lupe Valverde of Amarillo, Fredrico Alvarado of Devine, Macario Alvarado and wife Juanita of Alpine, Josephine Escovedo of Cisco, Carmen Anaya of Abilene, Manuel Alvarado of Devine, and Socorro Alvarado of Baton Rogue, Louisiana; 35 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Cipriano Alvarado, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were the afternoon of Saturday, March 29 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Deacon Ruben Castaneda officiating.
