Flora Peña Olivas, 75, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Medical Center Hospital.
She was born in San Juan, Ojinaga, Mexico on November 24, 1938 to the late Lauro and Isidora Nuñez Peña. She married Victor Manuel Olivas in Ojinaga on July 26, 1960 and they were married over 53 years.
Flora was a homemaker, a loving and caring wife, and a devoted mother and great-grandmother. She had a huge heart of gold.
Flora was a hard working woman and an awesome cook. A talented seamstress, she liked to embroidery and crochet. She enjoyed watching TV and novellas in her spare time.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her beloved husband, Victor Olivas of Odessa; two sons, Jaime Olivas and wife Maria and Leonel Olivas and wife Armida, all of Odessa; daughter Manuela Olivas of Midland; brother Ramon Peña and wife Valvina of Odessa; sister Cruz Ramos and husband Primo of El Paso; ten grandchildren, Melissa O. Avila, Jaime Olivas Jr., Victor Olivas, Yoel Peña, Cynthia Peña, Nayeli Peña, Jesus Ramos, and Mario Ramos; and ten great-grandchildren.
Rosary was the evening of Friday, April 11 at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel. Funeral Mass was the morning of Saturday, April 12 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church officiated by Father Mark Woodruff.
