A memorial service for Marfa native Maria M. Acosta is 2pm Saturday, March 16 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 5100 N. Lamesa Road, Midland with Victor Ramero officiating.

Mrs. Acosta, 89, of Monahans passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013 in Odessa.
She was born February 15, 1924 in Marfa to Nestor and Amelia Mendoza. She was a homemaker. Survivors include a son, Mario (Louisa) Acosta of Pflugerville; daughters Amelia (Reyes) Chavez of Midland, Elida (Tino) Ontiveroz of Monahans, Frances (David) Rodriguez of Irving, Elizabeth (Bobby Fuentes) Garcia of Odessa and Amalia (Manuel) Razo of Marfa; brother, Ramiro Morales of Carlsbad, New Mexico; 15 grandchildren, Richard Ontiveroz, Orlando Ontiveroz, Patty Ontiveroz, Glenn Rodriguez, Diana Morales, Ivonne Gonzales, Tina Rodriguez, Bobby Lujan, Raymond Lujan, Lyneta Mendoza, Audrey Lee Acosta, Austin Edward Acosta, Able Razo, Mandy Razo and Ruby Pallanez; also 28 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Manuel Acosta.
