Jimmy Perez “El Caballo Blanco” Gallego, 78, of Alpine passed away Friday, March 20, 2015.

Viewing will be at 6pm Friday, March 27 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Alpine. The Rosary will be recited at 7pm at the church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Saturday, March 28 at the church with burial in Holy Angels Cemetery.

Mr. Gallego was born Wednesday, March 10, 1937 in Alpine to Juan and Estefana Perez Gallego. Jimmy worked as a ranch hand for various ranches in the area for many years. He had a passion for horses and ranching.

He was a life-long Alpine resident and a member of the Catholic Church. Jimmy was a loving uncle, great uncle and friend who will be greatly missed but will remain in our hearts forever.

Survivors include five nieces, Olga Mendoza of Alpine, Sylvia Mendoza of Fort Worth, Josie Mendoza of Fort Stockton, Martha Mendoza of Fort Worth, and Annette Mendoza of Glendale, Arizona; two nephews, Joe Mendoza and Richard Mendoza, both of Alpine; also numerous great nieces and nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Estefana Gallego; and his brothers and sisters, Willie Gallego, Viola Sanchez, Maria Hernandez, Concepcion Gallego, Eva Mendoza, and Johnny Gallego.

Memorial Funeral Home of Fort Stockton is in charge of arrangements.
