Archie Clouse

Heaven threw its party of the year on Sunday, March 17, 2013 as Archie Clyde Clouse (or “Arch”, as he preferred) was called home.

Three and a half years ago, Archie was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer and was given 6-12 months to live. With his warrior-like tenacity, he defied all odds and battled bravely to the end of one life and the beginning of another.

Every time his doctors at MD Anderson entered the room, their jaws literally dropped; they were astounded at not only his great attitude, but his utter rejection of what was medically possible and expected.

Archie possessed integrity, conviction, and faith like none other. While we are thrilled for him and his new body now at home, we will miss him more than words can express until we meet again.

A country boy to the core, Archie was born and raised in Alpine. He graduated from Sul Ross University, and finally found his home in El Paso, where he met the love of his life, Patricia. The rest is history.

Archie has joined his parents, Kenneth and Mickey Clouse, in heaven, but surviving him is his outrageously loving family, his wife and best friend, Patricia Clouse; his daughter, Kindle Clouse D’Arco, her husband Chris, and their son, Adam; his daughter, Nathalie Clouse Dunwody and her husband, Jared; his younger brother, best friend, and partner in crime, Jimmy Clouse, his wife, Deborah, and their two children, Lisa and James; his eldest brother Kenneth, his wife Pam, his children Kenneth Martin and Scarlet; his youngest brother, Bobby Clouse and his wife Kerri; and countless loving in-laws of every kind: parents, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews.

Lastly, he is survived by his most precious and loyal companion who never left his side, Emmett “Mito,” his dachshund, who Archie said made his life “a whole lot better.”

Archie Clouse

There wasn’t a funeral for Archie. Instead, there was a memorial service and gathering to celebrate his grand life the afternoon of Sunday, March 24 at Del Sol Church in El Paso.

In April, his ashes will be laid to rest next to his parents in his beloved hometown of Alpine.

We love you and miss you, Arch. Thanks for making our lives “a whole lot better.”
