Marfa native Linda Nuñez, 56, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 in Rockledge, Florida after a lengthy battle with cancer.
The Rosary and funeral Mass begin at 10am Friday, March 27 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marfa, followed by the burial of ashes.
Linda was born November 7, 1958 in Marfa to Manuel and Lupe Venegas. She graduated from Marfa High School and was employed by Livingston Insurance, Southwest Texas Municipal Gas Co., and before moving to Florida with her husband, Mike Nuñez, she was employed by the Fort Davis Water Supply Co.
Linda is survived by her husband Mike Nuñez of Rockledge, Florida; her parents, Manuel and Lupe Venegas of Marfa; her two sons, Michael and his wife Tiffany Madrid of San Antonio, and David Madrid and his partner Vanessa Flores of Houston; her step-daughter Erica Carrillo of Monahans; a sister, Gracie and husband Nacho Parras of Marfa; her brother, Manny Venegas Jr. of San Antonio; grandchildren, Maya and Marco Madrid, and Mathew and Ryan Carrillo; nephews, Richard and Carlos Parras of Marfa; and her best friend, Vicky Garlick of Marfa.
Linda was a wonderful, sweet wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and grandmother and friend who will be missed dearly.
