Cecilia Hernandez Villa
Cecilia Hernandez Villa, 92, died May 3, 2017 in Monahans, Texas. She was born on November 22, 1924 to Tomas Hernandez and wife Cecilia in Loma Pelona, Texas. Cecilia was raised on a ranch at Loma Pelona near Presidio, Texas. She was a stay at home mother until 1968 when the family moved to Chicago where she worked for Shure Bros and Baxter-Travenol Pharmaceuticals. She was a parishioner at St John Catholic Church in Monahans. Cecilia belonged to De Colores, Sacred Heart of Jesus, and was a sister Knight of Columbus.
She is preceded in death by her parents Tomas and Cecilia B.
Hernandez, sisters and brothers; Genero Hernandez, Angelita H Aguirre, Agustina Hernandez, Lina H Cobos, Roberto Hernandez, and twin brother Jorge Hernandez.
Cecilia is survived by her sister; Berta H. Almanz, brother; Reynaldo Hernandez, husband; Benny Villa, daughter; Cynthia Villa, and many nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be held 7:00 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Harkey Funeral Home Chapel.FuneraI Mass will be held 9:00 a.m., Monday, May 8,
2017 at St John Evangelist Catholic Church, burial will be held 2:30 p.m MST. at Twin Oaks Cemetery in Artesia, NM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St John Evangelist Catholic Church.
