Florentina Ramos
Marfa native Florentina P. “Tina” Ramos of Del Rio entered into rest on Monday, August 28, 2017 at the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.
Visitation will be from 5-9pm Friday, September 1 with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7pm at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Del Rio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30am Saturday, September 2 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Del Rio with burial in Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
Tina was born in Marfa on April 1, 1944 to Faustino and Paula Pineda who preceded her in death.
Brothers and sisters who also preceded her in death include Johnny, Olga, Faustino, Jr., and Rene Pineda.
Surviving members of Tina’s family include her husband, Julio Ramos, sons Daniel and Roel of Del Rio, sisters Socorro Whatley of Marfa, Maria Flora Vizcaino of El Paso, and Irene Hernandez of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind brothers Leo and Roberto (Lupita) Pineda of El Paso, and Martin (Lori) Pineda of Austin.
Numerous nieces and nephews and their children also survive her.
Tina was a friend to everyone. She could strike up a conversation with people of all ages and of all backgrounds. Because of that her friends made for an interesting mix. She will be missed by all that she touched.
